Our Team

Peter is originally from the South West, having gone to school in Cornwall. He qualified in 1997 at Guys Hospital Dental School in London. He went on to obtain his Master of Restorative Dentistry in Endodontology (MRD) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He is the only mono Specialist Endodontist with these qualifications working in Devon and Cornwall. Peter is also a postgraduate tutor on the Endodontology Postgraduate programme at Kings College London and holds various lectures at the Peninsula Dental School and conferences. He currently combines his time working the majority of the working week here at Spring Hill with holding weekly clinics at River Practice in Truro.

I qualified in dentistry at Bristol University in 1999 and completed my Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry in 2006 (Royal College Surgeons, Edinburgh). I provide management of patients with head and neck cancer and developmental disorders. My specialist interests include multidisciplinary care of patients with orthodontic-restorative needs and the rehabilitation of cancer patients with dental implants. As the Managed Clinical Network chair in Restorative Dentistry for the Southwest I am developing a network across the region to help provide specialist services to all patients and improve quality of care. I have a passion for education. I am Associate Professor in Clinical Education in Plymouth University. I have played an active role in the development of the dental virtual patient a tool to develop treatment planning skills and I am responsible for the implant dentistry modules for the postgraduate cert/diploma/masters in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology. I am the Training Program Director for Restorative Dentistry in the Southwest and Honorary Secretary of the British Society for Restorative Dentistry both of which allow me to share my enthusiasm for my specialty.

Jeremy graduated in 1989, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1993 and completing orthodontic specialist training (including study in the U.S.A) in 1997. He has been an invited speaker in the UK and overseas, published articles in international dental journals, and won several major national awards. Jeremy has a special interest in adult orthodontics and multi-disciplinary cases. Having established River Practice in Truro in 2008, Jeremy now divides his time between Truro in Cornwall and Better Smiles based in Spring Hill Specialist Dental Centre, Tavistock, Devon.

Alexia qualified from The Royal London Hospital Dental School in 1996 and has worked in General Practice for 19 years. She has also spent 4 years in Glasgow & Fife Hospitals working under Consultants in Periodontology, Oral Surgery and Oral medicine. Alexia has recently completed a yearlong postgraduate course in Restorative Dentistry in Manchester with Tipton postgraduate training. Alexia enjoys all aspects of General Practice dentistry but particularly working with young children and nervous patients. We believe very much in early dental visits for children to allow preventative management, acclimatisation and beginning a positive lifelong relationship with dentistry. When not at work Alexia loves to be with her family, on the moors or the sea!

Linda qualified at Birmingham Dental School in 1980 and worked in general practice in Warwickshire for ten years before moving to the South West.

In 2003 Linda obtained the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies from Bristol University Dental School.

Throughout practice Linda has had a special interest in prosthodontics and has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in this field. Linda enjoys the challenge of managing the heavily restored dentition and the provision of high quality removable denture prosthetics. She enjoys this rewarding branch of dentistry, working to restore self-esteem, comfort and function!

Linda has been privileged to enjoy the mentorship of Dr John Besford, a pioneer in the personalised denture approach. She also holds a post as Clinical Supervisor at Plymouth University Peninsula School of Dentistry.

Matthew qualified in 2013 from the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. Further to joining us here at Spring Hill, Matthew has been appointed as a Clinical Supervisor at the Peninsula to trainee dentists. He has gained considerable experience working on complex dental cases at Torbay Hospital. Matthew can offer a wide range of treatments in all areas of general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Natasha is one of our Dental Hygienists, she has been with Spring Hill for several years. Having qualified in 2003 at Bristol University she is highly experienced and her kind and caring nature makes her very popular among patients and colleagues!

Lynn joined our team in 2018 after coming to locum for us. Her calm and gentle manner as well as her passion and commitment to the dental health of our patients impressed us enough to invite her to stay! Qualifying at Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1994, Lynn has amassed a wealth of experience throughout her career by working in varied settings. She currently teaches students (as well as, at times, treating patients) at the Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth. This means that her skills and knowledge are always finely honed and up to date. She is passionate about holistic care for all and is kind to everyone she encounters which makes her a valued team member and a popular choice with our patients.
