Baltimore, is a well known and regarded 3 star family hotel in the centre of the iconic and stunning fishing village of Baltimore, West Cork.\u00a0 The business is run by the second generation Jacob Family who began their enterprises in Baltimore in the 1970\u2019s when Youen Jacob Senior sailed in from Brittany and married the local primary school teacher on Sherkin Island, Mary O\u2019Neill.\u00a0 Together they started Chez Youen Seafood Restaurant on the main street in Baltimore which became a much loved institution known through the generations for it\u2019s fabulous Shellfish Platters and seafood.\u00a0 In the 1990\u2019s Youen Jacob Jnr took the helm down the street running a pizzeria and grill with rooms, offering affordable authentic food cooked to order and freshly prepared daily.\u00a0 The business evolved, in 2016.\u00a0 The Waterfront Hotel premises was built and Youen Jacob Jnr and his wife Kate, commenced a new chapter of the family business opening the 3 star Waterfront Hotel, The Lookout Restaurant and Jacob\u2019s Bar with a sister business next door La Jolie Brise Pizzeria and Grill.\u00a0 Today this business runs all year with an extremely busy food and beverage business with a marked seasonal trend running from Easter to the October Bank Holiday weekend.\u00a0 The winter months November to March are quieter and gives our team time to catch up on winter projects for the business and time to enjoy the slower pace of life in beautiful West Cork.\u00a0 The Jacob Family and their wonderful loyal long serving team deliver personal warm to reflect and enjoy our stunning surroundings during the off season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Job Overview and Responsibilities<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>This is an important senior position within our company.\u00a0 You need to be able to keep pace with the fast moving and multi discipline requirements of the summer season.\u00a0 You need to be super organised, disciplined and conscientious as this role is very much the engine of the overall business.\u00a0 You must be able to deal with people in a warm, empathetic and genuine way even when under pressure.\u00a0 You must have the experience and confidence to deal with customer complaints or delicate situations.\u00a0 By contrast during the quieter winter months you need to keep motivated and be able to take on winter tasks and projects with the same enthusiasm and commitment, demonstrating your range of capabilities and willingness to take initiative in a meaningful way.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The purpose of the role is<\/strong> to work together with the Front Office Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the reception desk and overall front of house experience.\u00a0 Demonstrating a high level of customer service at all times.\u00a0 Offering a warm and welcoming check in\/out experience in a timely and efficient manner.\u00a0 The ability to handle multiple calls and guest approaches to the front desk in a diplomatic, organized and polite manner.
