Guest Information

Our priority is to ensure a most enjoyable stay for all our guests and, as covid-19 continues to impact on our communities, we have implemented a number of stringent control measures across each department of the hotel as advised by the government of Ireland and failte Ireland – we have always consistently maintained the highest accommodation cleaning standards, and we have now enhanced and supplemented our existing systems so as to ensure the safety of our valued guests and our employees.

Prior to your arrival

You will have received an email confirmation outlining your reservation details and dinning arrangements and options during your stay.

Covid 19 symptoms – If you or somebody you have been in close contact with in the previous 14 days have had covid 19 or are displaying symptoms please do not go ahead with your reservation and phone us to arrange cancellation.

Entry and hand sanitisation – We kindly ask all residents to enter the hotel via the main entrance point on the village square side (please do not enter via the bar area entry points). there is visible hand sanitisation points at the main entry/exit areas of the building.

Social distancing – Please observe a 2 meter physical distance between yourself and other guests and staff. see dining experience for information on how to navigate the downstairs dining and lookout dining areas.

Check in / check out – Check in can be processed in the main reception area. where there is a group we ask that one person approaches reception to avoid too many people congregating in a small area. You may prepay if you wish and contactless payment can be provided. invoices/receipts can be emailed. When you are finished with your card key on check out, please place in drop box on reception desk upon leaving for sanitisation. Please retain your own card key throughout your stay.

Please inform reservations team should you require any additional assistance on arrival to enhance your safety.

Upon your arrival

Our staff have all received training on our covid control measures and all are practicing social distancing and hand and respiratory hygiene. Sanitisation stations have been deployed in all areas of the hotel as required to encourage hand and respiratory hygiene. Prior to entering the building, we will ask that you sanitise your hands. personal protective equipment will be available upon request. You have the option to prepay prior to arrival using contact less payment and have your invoice receipt emailed to you.

During your stay

Covid 19 signage are visible throughout the hotel to remind you of the social distancing and hygiene requirements in each area. For your safety, you may be asked to wait to enter or to vacate certain areas at times should the number of people gathered be nearing contravening the safety guidelines. You are asked to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and practise these throughout your stay when interacting with fellow hotel guests and employees. Social distancing is observed and numbers will be monitored and occupancy limited by changes to the layout of our public areas and dining facilities, and in all employee areas. Sanitisation stations are deployed in main entry/exit points of building of the hotel as required by the HSE and are placed in prominent areas to encourage hand and respiratory hygiene. The process, utilised products and frequency of our already strict hygiene procedures has been enhanced, focusing on deep sanitisation in all guest and employee areas, to ensure maximum protection of all persons on the property and in compliance with the latest guidelines. Our housekeeping team are championing enhanced cleaning and sanitisation of all public area touchpoints such as door handles, elevator buttons and banisters. Housekeeping are wearing personal protective equipment where stipulated by the guidelines. Contactless payment is facilitated where possible. Elevator usage is monitored to limit capacity and priority access will be granted to physically challenged guests.

If you develop symptoms during your stay

Please do not leave your bedroom if you are feeling unwell. please alert reception immediately via phone. Please call your GP for guidance. emergency contact numbers are in your guest information guide. a strictly controlled exit process from your room will be discussed with management.

Strict quarantining and cleaning procedures for rooms that have been occupied by guests with covid 19 symptoms are in place.

Your dining experience

Breakfast – will be served to residents 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on level one in the lookout restaurant. Please wait to be seated. We kindly ask that you avoid moving tables. there is a small breakfast buffet table option with individually portioned items and the rest of breakfast will be brought to you from the kitchen. Room service is not available.

The lookout restaurant is open from 10th july on a wednesday to sunday from 6p.m. on a set menu basis only. All dining reservations for the lookout must be made in advance. For your safety, you may be asked to wait to enter or to vacate certain areas at times should the number of people gathered be nearing contravening the safety guidelines. Residents that do not book in advance unfortunately may not be able to be facilitated due to social distancing guidelines. Service in the lookout will be traditional table service. Menus will be laminated to allow sanitisation between use. condiments and tables will be thoroughly sanitised between sittings.

Casual bar food is available in the downstairs areas and outdoor terraces from 12.30p.m. to 10p.m. This will be operated on a first come first served meet and seat basis. Casual a la carte bar food menu available. You will be met and details taken of your time in this area for contact tracing purposes. You will be seated and given the option of using a menu or a qr code allowing you to view the menu on your smart phone. One member of your party will be asked to approach the order points at the bar counter, to order, prepay (contactless if possible) and collect your tray with drinks and cutlery/condiments. You will be asked to kindly wait at your table remaining seated. Food will then be delivered to your table. This is a busy area and this approach is the best way to reduce the number of staff on the floor interacting with each other and with customers.

Dining staff are practising social distancing and are fully trained in the hotel’s covid control measures. Sanitisation stations are available at each entry and exit point. guest can opt for contactless menus in the downstairs areas. Tables are adequately spaced apart and the number of diners in all dining areas is limited in-line with the guidelines. All tables and tableware is thoroughly sanitised after each dining party vacates. Condiments have been removed from tables in the downstairs areas and will be served in disposable sachets.

Sanitisation of your bedroom

Thorough cleaning and sanitization of all bedrooms is conducted prior to check-in using d10 sanitiizer and bleach during the routine cleaning of each room including sanitisation of tvs, remote controls, guest directory, tables, doorknobs, light switches. desks, chairs, telephones, mirrors, closets, hangers, in-room bins, toilets, faucets, sinks and bath/showers. Items such as extra blankets and spare pillows have been removed from your bedroom and are instead available upon request. Room attendants and supervisors are trained in covid control measures and wear new personal protective equipment when cleaning each room. Your room attendant will open windows during room servicing to ensuring adequate ventilation.

Room cleaning during your stay – many people may choose to avoid room cleaning and bed making during the course of their stay. Please communicate this to reception as well as making use of the “do not disturb sign” on your door. Otherwise it will be understood that you would like daily room cleaning.

Laundry

All bedroom linen and towels is contracted out for professional cleaning and ironing to ashton linen. We do not offer a laundry facility to guests. we do take responsibility for a small amount of in house laundry such as chefs uniforms/aprons and napkins. This is strictly monitored and washed at a minimum of 60 degrees celcius.

Employee areas

Social distancing is observed in all employee areas where possible. Where it is not possible other measures have been taken into consideration including dedicated hand washing facilities in all main employee areas which is our first preference in hand hygiene over the use of gloves etc., ventilation, and availability of facemasks. Sanitisation stations are in place in all main exit/entry points of the hotel. Thorough cleaning and sanitisation is taking place in all employee areas on an ongoing basis. Housekeeping staff have been assigned longer hours and working days to manage this process. Signage is in place to ensure that all employees and suppliers understand and adhere to the guidelines. Employees have been provided with covid-19 information work and signed a commitment to our code of conduct and are champions of our operating procedures.

Employees returning to work have undergone comprehensive covid-19 induction training, as well as department and job-specific standard operating procedure training, ensuring all our employees are fully equipped to perform their duties to the highest standards. All employees have signed a health and travel declaration ensuring they are not displaying covid 19 symptoms before returning to work, can recognise the symptoms and must not come to work if feeling unwell. All staff have been asked to check their temperatures each morning before leaving their homes and know not to enter our premises if they have a temperature of 37.5 degrees or greater or any other symptom. All staff who call in sick will be required to undergo a covid 19 test with their local GP and negative results will be required by us before returning to work.

Our team have disinfectant available and will be required to disinfect surfaces and touchpoints including room key cards between guests. Managers and supervisors will monitor the proper use of all personal protective equipment among employees and ensure that it is disposed of and replaced in accordance with the guidelines. Managers and supervisors are continuing to monitor strict compliance with regards to social distancing, regular hand washing and cough etiquette. Windows will be kept open where possible to ensure good ventilation. Suppliers will be required to adhere with the covid control measures.

In the kitchen

The already strict kitchen hygiene procedures in place have been adapted to fully comply with the covid guidelines. All employees are trained in any new covid-19 standard operating procedures adopted by the business. The number of employees in the kitchen area is kept to a minimum within reason. employees are working in teams to avoid any unnecessary interactions where possible. All employees within the kitchen are wearing correctly washed uniforms and are under strict and regular hand washing instructions and respirator etiquette guidelines as per the HACCP guidelines. All items are sanitised with appropriate cleaning chemicals, cleaned and replaced as per the guidelines. Signage is displayed throughout the kitchen reminding staff of social distancing and other precautionary measures and with a reminder about handwashing and hygiene practices. At the end of each shift each workstation and the utensils are disinfected and cleaned as per the guidelines. All cleaning is recorded by a dedicated staff and double checked and monitored by our covid 19 employee lead rep.
